North Carolina law requires fingerprints to be submitted with new applications for all resident producer licenses. Applicants for a Resident Insurance Producer's License must give the Commissioner a complete set of their fingerprints, North Carolina G.S. 58-33-48. Insurance producers licensed prior to 10/1/2010 do not need to submit fingerprints for additional line of authority/licenses unless there are certain lapses of license authority. Applicants required to submit fingerprints and submission requirements are outlined in North Carolina Administrative Code 11 NCAC 06A.0418.
Initial applicants for Insurance Producer Licenses will need to submit fingerprints within 30 days of applying for a license. Once the application is submitted, follow the instructions, by clicking the link in the email notification from the National Insurance Producer Registry (NIPR). Fingerprint submission forms and instructions are only available after a resident application is submitted.
IMPORTANT The SBI Release Form MUST be signed and sent to the North Carolina Licensing Office of Pearson VUE.
