7 Tips for Completing Your CE in South Carolina

The following information only applies to South Carolina Insurance License Holders required to complete Continuing Education. 

1.     South Carolina Law requires license holders to keep a valid e-mail on file at all times. Tip- Use an e-mail that you check regularly and consider a personal e-mail if you may change employment.

2.     Only One email is sent from the SC DOI to remind you of your CE compliance deadline. TIP - Brewer will send you at least 6 emails counting down to your deadline.

3.     You can complete CE hours early in your compliance period. Tip - You can only renew your license within 90 days of your compliance deadline.

4.     It typically takes the SC DOI 72 hours minimum to process your CE hours. Tip -Don't wait until the last week of your deadline to complete your CE, as your license may expire.

5.     Courses cannot be taken more than once within a 2 year period. Tip – Brewer courses are updated every 2 years or sooner, and our system will not allow you to register for the same course twice.

6.     Considering a proctored self-study reading and testing course? Tip – The proctor affidavit form must be returned to the provider, NOT the South Carolina DOI. Avoid this hassle with our Stress Free CE courses.

7.     Already completed your required hours? Tip - Remember you must visit NIPR.com to pay and renew your license.
