The Live Webinar Pre-licensing course follows the course outline provided by the North Carolina Department of Insurance. It provides the student with the information needed to pass the North Carolina State Examination to become licensed to sell Life, Accident, and Health Insurance. This includes individual and group policies for Life Insurance, Annuities, Medical, Dental, and Disability Income to name a few. The topics covered by this traditional classroom course include over 15 major topics and 55 subtopics. Topics such as Insurance Regulation, General Insurance, Life Insurance Basics, Life Insurance Policies, Annuities, Disability Income, and Related Insurance are examples of the topics addressed.

Registration may be made online or by phone. Register early to reserve a seat and allow time to receive course materials. Payment is required in full at time of registration.
Cancellations and Rescheduling
Brewer Insurance School reserves the right to reschedule or cancel a class if the class has less than 15 students enrolled.

The following questions are those we are asked most often. What do I need to do to get a NC insurance license?
To acquire a North Carolina insurance license you must first attend and pass a state approved Pre-License course in order to earn an exam admission ticket. You will then need to register for and pass the NC licensing exam. After passing the exam, you must complete an electronic application by visiting the National Insurance Producer Registry website. You may be required to submit finger prints as a part of the application process. All of the steps and links can be found under Career Paths on the Brewer Homepage banner.
How often do you offer Live Webinar (Virtual) classes?
The five-day Property & Casualty Producer and Claims Adjuster course will be held twice a month. Life, Accident and Health courses will be coming later in 2024.
What are the advantages of attending courses using Zoom?
Our students regularly tell us that attending our Zoom course allowed them to be more time-efficient during the week of class. They liked being able to attend the course from the comfort of their home or office without the need travel to and from a course location. allowing more time for homework. Through Zoom our students are able to see, hear and talk to the instructor and he/she is able to see, hear and talk to them just as they would in an in-person course.
Do I have to have my camera on?
Per the North Carolina DOI regulations, Pre-License schools must guarantee student attendance for the full 40 hours (20 hours of each line of authority). Instructors must be able to see the students to ensure correct attendance. Students who don’t have their camera on may be disconnected from Zoom by the instructor.
How much are the classes with your school?
The cost of the five-day Life, Accident and Health Producer course is $250.00 (plus applicable tax and shipping), the five-day Property and Casualty Producer course is $250.00 (plus applicable tax and shipping), and the five-day Property and Casualty Claims Adjuster class is $250.00 (plus applicable tax and shipping). The courses include your textbook, an Exam Tutor On-line practice testing tool, and our student packet with diagrams and worksheets.
Do you offer discounts?
Discounts codes are offered periodically through email and direct mail. When available you can apply the discount during checkout.
When is payment due?
Payment is required at the time of registration.
What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept MasterCard, American Express, Visa, (Debit and Credit cards) or prearranged billing (businesses only). We do not accept Personal Checks.
Are there any other costs?
Yes. An examination fee payable to Pearson Vue of $45.00 for each of the following exams: Property, Casualty, Life, Accident & Health and Adjuster. An application fee of $82.00 base fee + $50.00 per each line of authority for Producers, and a $169.00 for Adjusters payable to NIPR.com. Fees shown are state fees only. These fees do not include NIPR transaction fees. All fees are charged per application. Fees include a fingerprint fee, This fee will only be charged on the initial license application. Subsequent additions to lines of authority (if applicable) will not incur this fee.
Is there anything I should have for class?
Students should have a pen or pencil, highlighter and a small amount of paper. We suggest you make notes in your textbook as there is plenty of room to write in your book.
Do you ever cancel classes?
We don't cancel class unless it is absolutely necessary. Usually, the reason we cancel is for low enrollment. We try to hold the class if it is reasonable for us to do so. We feel our students are taking this class to prepare themselves for their next career or upgrade their position in their current career. It is important for us to meet our commitment to them.
If I pay for an associate, and they do not attend, do I get a refund?
We will refund the payment or transfer the payment to another student from your organization if the student does not attend the class. If the student begins class and drops out or withdraws, the payment is non-refundable.
Would you offer classes for a group of associates at our office?
We do offer classes to companies, agencies, or group classes on a contract basis. Please contact us via phone at (803) 772-0684 or our Contact web page to inquire about this option.
What if I miss class time?
P&C or LA&H Pre-License Producer students who do not complete the required time may make up any time missed during the next course at no charge. By law, we must monitor and record class time to be able to provide a reporting of student time to the North Carolina DOI. Per the NC DOI regulations, these students must attend 40 hours (20 hours for each line of authority) of class as a condition to take the final exam(s).
Do you have any weekend or night classes?
We do not offer night or weekend classes.
