    The course presented in the classroom follows the course outline as provided by Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) and the North American Securities Administrators Association (NASAA). It provides the student with the information needed to pass the federal and state portions of the exam to become licensed to sell variable life insurance products, variable annuities and mutual funds.

    This test has the reputation of being very, very difficult. The student is required to read their material for the upcoming class and take the “Simulated Exam” as a Pre-Test. This will enable the student to gauge the amount of material they have retained by reading the material. This will be repeated for the second class as well. The student must commit themselves to studying hard to prepare for this test.

    Our approach to this class is different than our other classes and the approach our competitors take as well. The Series 6 class is a 4 day event and we strongly encourage the student to take the exam on Friday, Saturday, Monday or Tuesday following the completion of the class.

    The topics covered by this traditional classroom course include over 10 major topics and 150 subtopics. Topics such as Securities Markets, Investment Securities, Economic Factors, SEC Rules, and Federal Income Tax Regulations are examples of the topics addressed.

    Each course includes a professional instructor with years of experience practicing in the field and teaching this course. During the 4 days of instruction the student will be given the opportunity to ask questions relative to the topics taught, take several self assessment tests and receive instruction taught by our very experienced staff.

    The cost of this class is $300.00. This cost includes your Series 6 and 63 Study Manual and Exam Simulator. The Series 6 classes are held Monday through Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. You will be allowed 1 hour for lunch and 40 minutes of breaks each day. Long Term Care and Suitability in Annuity Transactions Required Training

In order to sell either Long Term Care Insurance or Annuities policies in South Carolina, a licensed Life, Accident and Health producer must take required training courses which are approved by the South Carolina Department of Insurance.     Cancellations and Rescheduling

    Brewer Insurance Information Service reserves the right to cancel a class if enrollment for the class is less than 20 enrollees.

    Certificates

    Approved Sponsors of approved courses are required to provide a certification of course completion to each individual who successfully completes an approved course within thirty (30) business days after the course is completed. Verification of the accuracy of the certification provided by the approved sponsor remains the responsibility of the producer. (SC Reg 69-50)
